The long weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

I took this weekend to semi unplug. I've been sick for the last two and a half weeks and I was so excited to finally get better in time for a long weekend. 

Saturday we spent the day at Arlington Race Track. I decided to wear my new Target dress.

These are the only pictures from Saturday because it was so hot I think my brain melted. Within an hour of being at the race track I was a hot mess. Or as bubbs would say... hot mess spaghetti. 

Sunday was a little more low key with a BBQ at my sister's.

There was hammock time.

Game time.

Sword fighting.

And this one was excited to show off his Batman big boy undies. 

I'm absolutely exhausted and so glad I had yesterday to catch my breath. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. I just wish every weekend were a long weekend! How can we make that happen? 

Friday's Letters

Dear Mucinex D and NyQuil,

I love you. Like for real. Thank you for carrying me through the last two weeks of complete miserable-ness. I got through all of this with your support. Thanks for being awesome.

Dear Sickness,

Get the insert expletive here out! You've taken over my life for the last two weeks and I've had it. You seem to be a combination of bronchitis, flu, cold and mono. I realize that hate is a very strong word, but guess what? I hate you and I hope to never see you again. Good luck to you sickness.

Dear 3 day weekend,

I just adore you. Why can't you come more often? You know you're always welcome around here. I wish you would stay every week. Think about and get back to me.

Current Crush: Monogram

Technically this current crush is more like a forever crush. I absolutely love monograms. If I could have them everywhere I would, but I don't want to go overboard. I mean I do, but I'll spare my husband my craziness and refrain.

A few weeks ago I got a monogrammed necklace and it quickly became one of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

Target Tuesday: Napolean Perdis & Pixi

It's Target Tuesday!

to show you what I'm crushing on at Target.

If you're lucky enough to have a higher volume Target near you then you may have come across their more elaborate cosmetic department. 

I was happy to see Napolean Perdis at Target and the best part is that it's at a lower (Target friendly) price point. I have one of his lipsticks that I got from Ulta and it's an absolute favorite of mine so I'm excited to try his Target collection. I'm thinking it's new since there doesn't seem to be too much product on line yet.

I'm a sucker for packaging and Pixi has some of the cutest packaging I've ever seen. It just makes me so happy to look at it. I'm excited to try the Succulent Lip Twins. The tube contains a lip balm and the cap is a solid lip and cheek tint. Lip balm, Lip Gloss and Cheek tint all in one??? Say what???

May Birchbox: Gossip Girl Edition

This month's Birchbox was Gossip Girl themed:

I don't watch Gossip Girl, but I have no idea what made this box so Gossip Girl. From what I've seen most ladies weren't that impressed with their boxes. Here's what I got:

Ojon--damage reverse Restorative Conditioner

Compared to the other boxes I've seen, my box was pretty decent, but I still don't understand where Gossip Girl comes in. I really thought we'd get fancier make-up samples.

Friday's Letters

Dear 50 Shades of Grey,

I have officially finished you. It took me 3 weeks and according to you that's approximately the same amount of time it takes to meet someone, enter a BDSM relationship, fall in love, etc. Yes, there were some erotic parts that were blush worthy, but your main character's internal dialogue was absolutely painful. It would be great if I didn't have to read the words "internal goddess" on every page. And as a woman in her twenties, I'd like to think that your main character could call her anatomical parts by their proper names rather than calling it her "sex". I'm glad so many people enjoyed you, but as for me... I could've had a V8. 

Dear Husband,

Bravo to you my love! You finally got the point and started picking up your socks. Also, I'm very glad that you've gotten yourself acquainted with hamper. Better late than never, right? Let's see how long you two remain friends. There is one other thing...

These cabinets close just as easily as they open. Crazy huh? You should try it sometime, I promise it won't hurt a bit. Love you so much!

 Dear Target Shoppers,

Seriously, are some of you actually this lazy?

It's hard for me to imagine that anyone could be in that huge of a rush that you just couldn't bother to put the cart inside the cart rack that happens to be right in front of you. I mean you're at Target... everybody knows you don't go to Target if you're in a hurry. Let's all play nice and push the carts inside the cart rack thingy. I mean if you could push it all the way outside the store, what's another 2 feet, right?
